Semiconductor devices

Differences in the nature of solids (eg, conductors, insulators, semiconductors or superconductors) is caused by: differences in binding force between the atoms, ions, or molecules. All the bonds in the solid material involving electrical forces, and the main difference between these bonds depends on the number of outer electrons. Based on the structure of particles (atoms, ions, or molecules) constituent, the solid material is divided into two types of crystalline solids and amorphous solids.

Crystalline solids is that the structure of solid material constituent particles have a long and repetitive order periodically. Amorphous solids is that the structure of solid material constituent particles have a short order. Especially for semiconductor there are two types, namely the crystal structure (eg: Silicon, Germanium, Gallium arsenide, etc..). and the amorphous structure (eg amorphous silicon)).
